Hello,
I am working on an application with an embedded mapplet which is
presenting a large national set of data - nearly 4000 points and
expected to grow. Currently the dataset is in kml (kmz
specifically). Performance is weak and it appears that some points
are never displayed even though only a small subset are in the viewing
area at any given time.

What strategies do you recommend for improving performance? Are there
alternatives for how the data organized? How significant a factor is
the complexity/size of the bubbles (mine are not big)?

I am aware Google Earth has Regions but it appears these do not work
on Google Maps. Are there other workarounds?

thank you or your assistance.

-Rafael
