Now that it's working my next challenge is to work out:

a) how to pass the value for metres to move the marker from a distance
held in a mySQL database and
b) how to update the same database with the Lat and Long generated by
getLatLng and used for the marker

I want to use proximity to others in the same challenge using town
names on another page hence the need to store the Lat and Long in the
database so that I can look them up from the UK Gazetteer.

Thanks again for fixing this.  Was very exciting to refresh the page
and see the marker :)
