On an unrelated but related topic have you seen this site: http://www.walkscore.com. You put in your address (works on the UK, Spain etc although the site is US based) and it gives you a score for how walkable the address is. So if the location has lots of facilities nearby then it's more walkable than somewhere that you can't get to by walking. Might be interesting to compare flats as it finds all the local facilities.
So 3 Calle Fuenterrabia, Zaragoza is 58 out of 100 which is 'somewhat walkable' with Centro de Estudios 0.84km away. If you twist the arrow on 'schools' you see how far each of the schools is and if you click on the entry then their location will be highlighted. If your school is not on the map then you can click on 'something missing' and add the location you are measuring to and it will be added to the database. Fun :) My flat is 85/100 and 'very walkable' and it genuinely is!
