It's also worth bearing in mind that a geocoder locates an *address*.
Not only does the Google Maps geocoder use a different dataset/
algorithm; but it will fall back to doing a local search if it can't
locate what it's given, so business names will produce a meaningful
result. This can produce a mistaken view of what the API geocoder can
do.

While the API geocoder *can* locate the postal address "No 1
London" (albeit on a map legend which is 100yds adrift), "17,
Australia" is presumably not an address, and the API geocoder is bound
to have difficulty with it.
