what is the geographic coordinate system such as UTM or Latitude and
Longitude that a person would need to have via a GPS unit to work with
Google Maps API.
And Map datum , WGS 84, or the year , example 1864.

After searching thru Google Maps API i would assume that the
coordinate system could be ? UTM.
Could i please receive a verification of my assumption that the
coordinate system could maybe possibly be the UTM coordinate system.
If the coordinate system is something ? else could i please receive
what it is.

I did enter into a search query at Google Maps API forum and the
results came back pertaining to street address`s.
I would like to show in Google Maps via a web site, locations that are
not located on asphalt or concrete. Out in the woods. Off the beaten
path. And show asphalt where Google Maps does not.

I did look into Google Maps API documentation ...
from page title ( Google Maps API - Google Code )
i did click on Maps API Developers Guide that is below ( How Do I
Start )
on the next page i did click on the Basics below Maps API Version 2
on this page i did scroll down reading everything.
i do not see any where, where there is mention of coordinates.
What i do see on the last page is .....
below the heading ( Initializing The Map ) there is Javascript code
with words in the color purple ( GLatLng ) followed by numbers in the
color green .

If Google Maps is based off of street surveying.
Here in the pacific Northwest i have come to the understanding, "The
location of each township in the states of Washington and Oregon is
referenced to by its distance from the intersection of the Principal
Willamette Meridian and the Willamette Baseline". Along with the
understanding that all of this Territory was once known as Oregon ,
before the creation of Washington.

if any one knows what i could transcribe from a GPS unit or USGS map
and mangle into known numbers that would work with Google Maps API, i
would appreciate the assistance.
I do see that other people can enter in points of interest off of the
beaten path.
what is the top secret .
thank you.
