I see but what if the posted link deosnt actually show the problem in
action. its not like my map doesnt work , it does, I just want my own
custom markers.

I actually didnt know that. You misread my post. I was just telling
you what I did that I thought would use my custom marker but instead
created another error such as my map does not move when I click a
geocode link. im not a big java script fan and if i was i could fix
this. UGH!!!
