My database stores records in one of three formats. NAD27, NAD83 and
WGS84. According to the following post (http://groups.google.com/
group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/41d45dc53f208f39/
c87810319e7d590b?q=nad27&rnum=2), NAD83 and WGS84 are essentially
interchangeable, however NAD27 is not.

NADCON http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/TOOLS/Nadcon/Nadcon.html has an
executable and an http page that will perform conversions, however it
doesn't seem to have a web service, nor does it inform the reader of
the algorithm for the conversion.

Roughly .02% of my data is in NAD27 format, but it's pretty important
to my client to map these data if at all possible. So, my question
is:

1) does google maps api offer a converter somewhere within the geocode
function (or heck, anywhere else really)
2) is anybody aware of a web service, javascript, java, .net or
coldfusion object that i can use to do this conversion?
3)does anybody know the actual alogorithm used by NADCON to convert
NAD27 to NAD83?

(the questions are mutually exclusive)
