Microsoft likes changing things. IE8 doesn't even work on their own map site without the IE7 compatibility mode set (at least so I have heard). If that is your map, and you need to support visitors using IE8, then you will need to fix it to be compatible with IE8. If it isn't your map, then either don't use IE8 or contact the maintainer an make them aware of the issue.
