I don't believe the API supports stippling out of the box. One  
alternate option would be to draw the tangential portion of the routes  
with one being slightly wider (by both increasing the width of one and  
decreasing the width of the other) and then drawing them in order from  
widest to narrowest. That way, you would have the one route's segments  
outlining the other route's segments. Of course, this would work best  
if you only have two tangential routes at a time. 3 or more would  
probably look atrocious. :)

Maybe someone's figured out stippling, though. I just wanted to offer  
an alternative just in case.
