I suspect that this is a cross-domain restriction, but without real
links it's difficult to be sure. I wouldn't expect the error you're
getting; I'd expect a real permissions error.

If the host servers are within the same domain, use the
document.domain property to tell the browser that.

If that's not the reason, you're going to have to be a little less
secretive.
