I did read these posting guidelines, however I think this is a special
case here: this code is not embedded in some webpage (to which I could
provide a link), but is self-dependent bookmarklet code.

This code is no snippet but the fully complete bookmarklet code. There
is nothing required "around" it - just surf to http://maps.google.com/
, copy the code into the clipboard, paste it to your browser's address
bar and see what happens.

Hmm, really don't know... May depend on what Google sends me via
