No that is not true. The 1000 limit is per user, not per site IP
address. So, unless you have heaps and heaps of maps, you will be
fine.

Though the actual limit is not 1000 per day but is 250 for every 6
hours (which works out to 1000 over a full 24 hours).
Also there is another limit of a maximum of 50 requests by an
individual within a minute - so make sure less than 50 maps are
displayed on any given page.
