Hi, I did little search and this article sounds like its what you need
(assumption is that your blog runs on wordpress)
http://techrageo.us/2005/08/16/google-maps-api-and-wordpress/

I just made little jump through that article, so hope it will be
helpful

More generalised answer is:

- You can use google maps API whenever you want, as long as its along
with terms of service: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html

All you need is to have acces to your site to change HTML code and be
able upload javascript
