I've gone through many similar posts but I don't see anything that seems like the specific problem I'm having. I'm in the process of setting up a google maps module on a site that is being developed at: http://dev.downtownvictoria.ca.
the actual map is supposed to be embedded here: http://dev.downtownvictoria.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=210&Itemid=229 the final site once complete will need to be live here: http://www.downtownvictoria.ca. I just entered in the API key that i got based on the url: http://dev.downtownvictoria.ca. but when I visit that page I get the following error: "The page http://dev.downtownvictoria.ca says: The Google Maps API server rejected your request. This could be because the API key used on this site was registered for a different website. You can generate a new key for this website at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/." I've generated another api key with my Google account that was used in the same way for another site that worked just fine: http://www.anonymousadvertising.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=26&Itemid=5 Should I be generating a key for the actual url instead? (www.downtownvictoria.ca) And will it only work once the site is at the correct live location rather than at the sub domain where it is being developed? Any help in getting this to work for the new site would be greatly appreciated! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
