Jake thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction. I found a few great sites with a very nice basic & advanced tutorials that I will go through to understand how all this works.
Using the updater certainly makes sense to get the map information to either post to the page using <script /> or just reloading the map. I guess i'll have to look at the tutorials to understand better how the map works. Thanks again and your help is greatly appreciated.
