I'm sorry, the thread gets a little confusing with all my replies. Let
me re-explain :

I'm developing a web-mapping application with GoogleMaps API and just
added the "earth" type. I use a "markerManager" [1] to add markers.
When changing the type to "earth", the markers icon changes for a small
red [X].

Since the online application is secured, I tried to make a small
example that might show the problem [2] but it doesn't. Plus, when
switching to "earth", the map becomes black and it takes quite a while
to get a map. When the map finally comes up, the marker's ok... so the
problem could be somewhere else... but giving to me hints / comments
about how I create / manage my markers could indirectly resolve my issue.

  In brief :

  1) I wonder why my little example [2] is so slow
  2) I need hints / comments on how I create / manage my markers since
my little example [2] doesn't show my original problem ( red [x] markers)...

  That's it.

Many thanks,

Alexandre
