I've been struggling trying to get the StreetView viewer to act
decently fast. Unfortunately, all the examples I tried wind up being
like this one:

http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/examples/streetview-object.html

It is quite slow and jerky to pan around and look up and down. In
contrast, the street view embedded in google maps is nice and smooth
on the same machine in both FF and IE.

Another strange thing I notice is that if I take my same simple street
view test code and load it from a file rather than my server (which is
running on localhost), it runs smooth. If I load it from the server,
it runs incredibly slow. Unfortunately I have to run it from the
server in real use.

Anyone have any tips to offer? Is the google link above a lot slower
and choppier for you than the regular google maps page street view?

Thanks!
