Firstly, I am a Google Maps n00b - I will state this from the outset.
Most of my learning to date has consisted of looking at other peoples'
code, examples, proof of concepts, then coding myself, breaking
things, and learning from the experience.

I'm currently putting together a map which will allow the user to see
Government services in their immediate area. Work to date can be found
at:
http://members.westnet.com.au/mgharris/mashup/govfinder/

The markers are created using JSON, source data being a Google
Spreadsheet's ATOM feed.

I've got everything going well so far, from displaying markers,
geolocation, and of course the presentation layer at least from a UI
standpoint (still detail to be added to the markers, that's the next
stop).

The next thing I wish to know is if a user searches for something, can
the results display relevant information from the markers for my map?

Eg: If a user searches for Joondalup - the user will get a geographic
marker appear for that suburb, and the link to that marker appears in
the search results.

Within that suburb, there are two markers created, one titled
Centerlink and the other Medicare. So, if a user searches for
Joondalup, I would like the search results to show the markers within
that area.

I've not had any luck finding the answer to date, so I either don't
know the correct configuration option I need to apply to googleBar for
achieving this, or its just not possible.

Any help and assistance finding this answer (and some samples if it is
possible and you know of them) would be greatly appreciated.
