Hello,

I have a problem when trying to search for a full UK post code 'BH12
3LP' as per the url below:

http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output=xml&key=[yourkeyhere]&q=BH12%203lp&gl=uk&sensor=false&oe=UTF8

This actually returns one result but for the general 'BH12 1' post
code area

If I modify the url to only search for 'BH12 3':

http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output=xml&key=[yourkeyhere]&q=BH12%203&gl=uk&sensor=false&oe=UTF8

I get one result for the 'BH12 3' area which is much closer to where I
would expect the result to be, although is still a little way off from
the full post code

Why though, can I cannot search for the full post code? Is this a
limitation of the quality of data in the database from which the
geocoding requests are derived? If so is there any way of getting hold
of better data, e.g. paying for a certain type of api key?

Thanks,
Rob
