I have a few questions: 1) What should do in cases where the content is already indexed, for example with geo-sitemaps and kml files? Should they be set to indexed=false?
2) Hows is linking going to work? Many maps load data asynchronously, in responce to tickboxes, dropdowns etc, and even as the user drags the map. So going to the page url, might well not allow the user to see the same information. 3) How will public/private data in one map be handled? Ie will there be any protection for not exposing private data, in cases that the map does have some public data that could be indexed. Many maps are themselves public (required!), but display private data in some sitiations (as far as I know this is allowed as per the Terms). [I guess could just set the whole map as indexed=false?] ok, 2 is more a concern as we dont know the implementation. And 3 is based on the assuption that the API is going to be logging data as its displayed (this seems to be implied by the Blog post), rather than the GoogleBot webcrawler being updated to be able to extract data from Javascript. (which would always be public by definition) Barry (I typed this message a few days ago, but a Google Groups bug prevented me from sending it, so it overlaps with other questions now, sorry) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
