If you already have your own images, then Graham's Custom Marker Maker can be sued to create the parameters and the transparent and shadow imagery. http://www.powerhut.co.uk/googlemaps/custom_markers.php The MarkerIconOptions Wizard is worth a look if you mainly want colours and symbols.
