No, I haven't really found a solution, but I no longer need it at the
moment. I solved my problem on the server side...

If you're interested, I'm using the <a href="http://www.speich.net/
photo/photodb/photo-mapsearch.php">MarkerClusterer to display my
photos on the GMap</a>.
