Hi guys I have almost finished developing my application when I started debugging IE 8about two days ago. Will not be supporting IE6 but hey, we cannot block out IE completely?
I am back trying to get a basic map to load without IE complaining. No luck so far. I am using IE8 on top of XP SP2 running in VirtualBox on my dev machine. Here is a link to the barebones page: http://gk-linux.sanparks.org/tourism/map/test.php And here is my current error: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/ 4.0) Timestamp: Thu, 21 Jan 2010 08:27:34 UTC Message: Invalid character Line: 1 Char: 1 Code: 0 URI: http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_ALL/mapfiles/140g/maps2.api/mod_display_manager.js ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have also noted that I cannot even load examples in the maps documentation with IE8 - that does not bode well I guess.... My main application sits here: http://gk-linux.sanparks.org/tourism/map/ I am using jquery and all kinds of other fancies there. But will be happy if I can get a standard map working in IE8 and take it from there. Thanks. Pieter.
