Hi,
I am doing overlay animation, I add an overlay to the map, wait for
specified interval then add next overlay and remove the first.

If I use .removeOverlay(layername) the browser quickly becomes
unresponsive
and the cpu spikes. If I use .clearOverlays() this does not happen
however
I really don't want to clear all overlays, just the overlay in the
previous
animation cycle as there could be overlays not in the animation turned
on.

It does not make a difference which browser I use, it happens across
the
board, IE, FF, Chrome...

PS. The .removeOverlay(layername) does work until the browser becomes
unresponsive.

here is a link to the map with the leak
http://arcserver1.iagt.org/smpdleaking/
Steps to produce leak:
   1) Expand 'NASA NEO'
   2) Expand 'MODIS'
   3) Check the top checkbox 'Land Cover Classification (1 year -
Terra)'
   4) The bottom panel will load Display Configurations. Slide speed
slider to 100
(all the way to the right) then press the play button (From: and To:
are
not used in
this specific demo)
   5) Let animation cycle for 20 or 30 seconds, then pan and zoom, you
will
notice
the browser slow in response then become unresponsive.

To see the same thing work with .clearOverlays() visit
http://arcserver1.iagt.org/smpdd This has been updates with an
animation
builder so the steps are just a little different
1) Expand 'NASA NEO'
2) Expand 'MODIS'
3) Check the top checkbox 'Land Cover Classification (1 year - Terra)'
4) Click "Build Animation" button under the animation control
5) Click in the "From" textbox
6) Select 12/31/2000
7) Click in "To" textbox
8) Select 1/2/2003
9) Click search
10) Click ">>" button
11) Click "Build" button
12) Click the play button in the animation control

notice the leak does not happen.

I have posted this same message in the Google Maps API bug reports and
feature requests on Dec 16, 2009 but have yet to get any kind of
response. If anyone has any insight or knows how to get some kind of
interaction with the google maps team please post below...
