For a million markers, any sort of client side solution becomes
impractical simply due to the time it would take to pass all the data
from the server to the client. For example, if you've got an average of
20 bytes of data for each point 20 Megabytes of data takes 200 seconds
to transmit on a 1 Megabit broadband connection.
