You mean add a marker that is big and catchy enough to be noticed ?

To do that, I'll need to get the lat and lng of the marker (using
getLatLng()) and then add a marker at these coordinates on mouseover
or onclick event ?
Is that what you mean ? Do you have any link to have an example ?

Otherwise, I've noticed an issue with my sidebar (under Firefox 3.5.7,
Ubuntu) : when I try to go down using the bar and then click on a
label, the list comes back to the top (even if I care not to scroll
down over the labels) ; I assume there is a problem with the focus()
but maybe someone would have a suggestion to correct that.
