You can position the map div absolutely and set all the four position
properties: left, top, right and bottom.

It is valid CSS and it works fine with all the browsers but IE.

Happily IE has its special CSS property 'expression' that allows you
to set width and height by javascript expressions.

That goes off topic on this forum. Try searching on CSS sites.
