Is there any possible way to ask the geolocator server the directions route between two locations? I would like to have the ability to store encoded paths in MySQL texts for later use on a V3 API map. The application is a non-profit rescued pet transport group. see
http://otrapettransport.org/ Currently takes WAY too long to load demo routes using just the V3 API and asking for the same directions path every time the map is loaded. The V3 API folks said there was no way other than to use javascript first, send results to the server to store, then get them back for display. V3 API AJAX makes the browser/server sync timing rather cumbersome (request returns before the path is available). Please say you will allow XML/JSON directions request to static map server.
