I'm trying to load ~1000 placemarks from a mySQL database and it is very slow.
Can anyone suggest an easy way to load, maybe half of them when the map is zoomed out beyond a certain scale, and then load the rest when zoomed in? Currently I'm using the instructions from this tutorial (http:// code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlajax.html).
