Hi, I was told by a Google staff member to ask this question here. We run www.adsl2exchanges.com.au . We have have a popular and useful site for people looking for info on ADSL2 and their local exchange. We have a high ranking on Google for "ADSL2" keywords.
We had a idea that we'd like to run past everyone and see what you think. Google and Sensis/ yellowpages (YP) did a deal where Google will use YP’s data on searches. You type “sydney hotels” or “isp providers Brisbane” in Google and you get a Google map at the top of the search and it lists the local businesses in those areas via YP’s data. All part of Google trying to be as “relevant” as possible. Well, ADSL2exchanges actually uses Google maps heavily, actually it’s the foundation of our site. We have every phone exchange listed and the Google Map area to go with it. We have 3 tabs on top for the person looking for info on their exchange. http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/viewexchange.php?Exchange=BOND We will be adding a 4th tab soon (What your exchange looks like – Streetview), you can see it now just by clicking on the green dot. Our most popular tab is our propriety data- heatmaps tab. Our users submit their broadband speeds and we overlay it on the Google map. Instant heatmap, that gives users an idea of what speeds they’ll get for ADSL2. We have over 11,000 point and growing everyday. My idea is when someone types “bondi ADSL2” or “bondi exchange” or “bondi internet” or many other bondi XXXXX keyword phrases they’ll get a mini customised “bondi” ADSL2exchanges map the gives them that info. Do you think this is something that would be good for Google users? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
