the Interstate 276 is accurately represented as two separate road lines, eastbound and westbound. In in your example the first waypoint is closest to the eastbound line, and the second waypoint is closest to the westbound line, so the request is understood to mean that you want to get to the other side of the road. The vehicle must find a way to turn around on the highway, which means taking the nearest offramp and looping over a bridge to get to the other side.
