We are having exactly the same problem with Google Maps over SSL.

If paying for Premier is the only option, we will have to give up
Google Maps and switch to Bing Maps.  Because I have been using Google
Maps for years and do like it a lot, it is very disappointing but we
have no choice as we cannot afford Premier.

I just want to make sure Bing Maps supports SSL.  Does anyone know it?
