Hi, I'm working on a map that pulls marker data from an XML file (populated by ExpressionEngine) and uses custom marker icons. The page can be viewed at...
http://www.eee-consulting.com/test/ The custom marker icons do not display the first time I load the page on multiple browsers (Win7 - IE8, Safari 4.0.4, FF 2.6.3; also had the same thing happen on a Mac in Safari but am not sure of OS or version #). However, when I reload the page the icons appear and continue to display properly anytime I reload. If I close the browser, reopen it and load the page, the icons again fail to display on the initial load. The data from the XML file appears to be loading even on the initial load. I tested this by setting GIcon to G_DEFAULT_ICON, and the standard Google shadow icons (I have no shadow icon defined for my custom icons) appeared behind where my custom icons appear on reload. An example of this can be seen at http://www.eee-consulting.com/test2/ I have gone through my js and tried to be thorough with my comments, as I am fairly new to js and want to have a good understanding of everything that I'm doing. However, I can't seem to figure out where I've gone wrong. Additionally, the scroll wheel zoom is not working properly. I see the animated red frame corners that indicate zooming when I use my scroll wheel, but the extent/zoom level never changes. The UI controls are also very spotty. Sometimes the scale slider/tick bar works, while other times I can click on the +/- buttons, drag the slider, and click the tick marks with no response. The scroll wheel zoom and UI problems are consistent regardless of whether it is the initial load or the page has been reloaded. These problems are also consistent across multiple browsers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
