Thanks Barry That link seems to talk about the elevation service, whereas I have the elevation and time data from the GPS data. Yes, the vis API seems to "handle" arbitrary time points, but I am not sure it is correcting the graph to make the x axis constant or is just plotting the values giving the x axis no real meaning. I want people to be able to examine gradient from the graphs, which is impossible without a constant x axis.
To view a graph on the site: Either: Find an existing line (Green icons) and click on it. Then in the right pane, click "Show Altitude Graph". Or: Log in, click the "My Locations" tab on the left, click the "Add Location" button. Then, then in the right pane, click the "Line" radio button and start clicking the map to draw a line, or click the "GPX Import" button to upload a GPX trace. Then you can click the "Show Altitude Graph" button to show the altitude graph for that line.
