I'm having problems getting IE7 and IE8 to load my xml file, or any xml file for that matter at it's default security settings. I've tried both "GDownloadUrl" and "GXmlHttp.create()"
an example: if you open internet options and click "security" then "reset all zones to default level" then go here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/examples/xhr-requests.html the markers never appear (for me at least not sure about any one else). If I open internet options, then enable "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" it works fine. Is there anything I can do about this? I can't really ask the user to change her/his security settings to view my site, esp when IE throws all kinds of warnings when you change this setting.
