All the parsers have costs (js file size containing lots of features you arent using) and benefits (sidebar creation, local file loading and javascript enabled popup windows and general controllability) which are dependent on context
I have seen GeoXml used for as little as the ability to control what window links in the kml targeted ... In your case I am wondering why GGeoXml isnt working do you have a page/link demonstrating?
