I've read many discussions on this and other forums related to the Terms of Use and how it is illegal to save images of Google Maps. However, most of these appear to be directly related to the images/ photography included in the maps.
In my case, I have a small number of a polygons with a large number of points/precision being rendered with color/fills based upon scores generated out of my own database. I am trying to get an image of the rendering of these polygons which starts in googlemaps. I am using a white overlay to block out all of the photography underneath (aka, no satellite or otherwise imagery is visible at the time that I am trying to create an image). This sounds like this may NOT be a violation of the ToU. While I understand that it is not fair to ask someone to interpret the terms for me, I would like to get people's input on the best way to start with a google map (with my white overlay in the background and my rendered polygons in the foreground) and turn this into an image that can be saved for a report or presentation. At this time, I am using screenshots to get my rendered polygons out of Google Maps and into a basic tool like Paint, which is never an ideal solution. I would appreciate any assistance or comments/thoughts on these particular circumstances. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
