The first link pointed to my own question which was not very useful.
But the 2nd link did point to an online calculator which after using
was somewhat helpful.
>From what I gathered all I needed to know was to do the following to
do the conversion
from this: "dd.dddddd" to this "dd mm.mmm" all I have to do is
multiply the decimal portion of the first expression by 60 to get the
minutes in a decimal format.
ie 41.87920
1) take interger portion of number and preserve as degrees "DD"
2) take decimal portion of number ".8792"
multiply it by 60 .8792 * 60 = 52.752 as decimal minutes
"mm.mmm"
3) then combine to display the result
"DD mm.mmm" or in this case "41 52.752"
