Yes, tile layer might be best. But my ultralight marker class gives me 15000 points on Google Chrome without any problem (though IE8 seems to drag after 5000 or so).
http://mastertoolworks.com/GPS2020/testlight.html (the javascript is here; http://mastertoolworks.com/GPS2020/markerQ.js) It's based on the MarkerLight class, just stripped down a bit, and with click, mouseover and mouseout events as well as the ability to easily use whatever image file you like. Feel free to use it if you find it helpful. -Mike Ethetton www.mappingcenter.org www.mastertoolworks.com On Jun 12, 1:27 pm, "maps.huge.info [Maps API Guru]" <[email protected]> wrote: > I would suggest that using that many markers is going to be an issue. > You'll need another way to do this, like a tile layer. > > -John Coryat > > http://maps.huge.info > > http://www.usnaviguide.com > > http://www.zipmaps.net -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
