Paranoia is all well and good in the right place. However, if you have used the Javascript Google Maps API, you would know that information on markers and infowindows goes from your server to the Javascript client and does NOT get sent to Google servers. But you are right in that if you don't want people to see your corporate data, keep it behind a firewall - then your paranoia can be limited to people on the outside trying to get in, and people on the inside misusing it. Isn't information security great ;-)
