I am building an application that geocodes locations. To improve
performance, I'd like to store the geocoded results (lat/lng) in a
database, otherwise I'd need to make up to 100 Geocode lookups per
page request. Can I store geocoded location as part of a user profile
without violating the TOS?

I've searched through the forums and can't seem to find anybody
explicitly saying that it violates the TOS (actually most replies seem
to help figure out how to store this data.) The closest I found was a
reply which said store it in the database and occasionally update it
so it is "temporary" data.

Here is that the TOS says:
----------------------------------
7.1 Definitions.
[...]
 (b) "Content" means any content provided through the Service
(whether created by Google or its third party licensors), including
map and terrain data, photographic imagery, traffic data, or any other
content.

[...]

10.3 pre-fetch, cache, or store any Content, except that you may
store limited amounts of Content for the purpose of improving the
performance of your Maps API Implementation if you do so temporarily,
securely, and in a manner that does not permit use of the Content
outside of the Service;
----------------------------------
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html

What qualifies the data storage as being "temporary"? What if I store
it as part of the address, like “Hollywood, CA USA
[34.101631,-118.339776]?” Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Jesse
