Not sure whether there is an example in the docs, and I seem to recall a bit of trial and error getting it to work. Have a look at one of mine: http://www.achurchnearyou.com/burton-st-richard/ There is something wrong on that site, because it hasn't behaved well when zooming for some time, but I haven't had the time to sort that out and it's due for a bit of a revamp anyway. However, zooming one level at a time seems to be ok. Anyway, lines 325-333 of that page's source code show the creation of an array of polyline objects into a single disjoint polygon.
