I am trying to overlay a KMZ file that will show the Forecast Zones for Maricopa County. I would like to have all the zones and have them different colors but cannot get it to work.
Here is the current website with the http://156.42.96.39/alert/Google/CountyMap.html. Currently I have the a kmz file working but it is not exactly what I want. I went through this website http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth&googleearth_docname=gpstest&googleearth_zip=0 to put the forecastzones.kmz file in and I created a .kmz file that will show up in Google Maps but all the zones are grey and I would like them color coded. I am using a .shp file in esri arcmap and using the shp to kml converter with the 3D analyst extension. I selected all of the polygons and the file was successfully created. If you open this file I created (http://156.42.96.39/alert/Google/forecastzones.kmz) in Google Earth it works perfectly but this file will not open in Google Maps. In Google Maps it says "http://156.42.96.39/alert/G... could not be displayed because it is not a valid KML or KMZ file." I wasn’t sure why it wasn’t working so I separated out one of the zones did the same thing and the .kmz file works in Google Maps see http://156.42.96.39/alert/Google/Wickenburg.kmz. I want all 13 zones to show at once so I can have one checkbox to turn the layer off and on. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
