Probably.  I don't have time to look at it right now, but a couple of
experiments with your encoded lines with and without the \ and using
Marc McClures encoding/decoding tools should help you figure it out.

The problem with your sidebar is that when you trigger the GPolygon
click handler, it doesn't set the value for "point".  You need to
handle that case.  One suggestion would be the center of the bounds of
the polygon, another might be the first vertex, you need to decide
what you want to happen.
