Hello,

I'm having a similar issue with the Static Maps API.

When map type is set to terrain and there are no markers on the map
the entire Asia and Australia are drawn in black.
When there are some markers then only parts without markers are drawn
in black.

Here is an example of a map without markers - http://g4ng.com/users/tiger/
this one with some markers but not in Asia - http://g4ng.com/users/wolf/
(the same as first one)
and this one with some markers in Asia - http://g4ng.com/media/staticmap.png
(a saved image of the map on http://g4ng.com/)

These static maps were just ok some 2 months ago as I can remember.

Any ideas why this happens and how to fix it?
