Thanks for your quick response Barry and Mike, but unfortunately,
neither of these worked.

However, just so anyone else reading this post keeps abreast of this
issue, I did find out the problem, and it appears to be a browser
specific issue. I tried to get my Maps API key this time using IE 8,
and had no problems whatsoever getting the key generated.

Previously, my failed attempts were on Firefox 3.6.8. Now I am not
sure if this is a true Firefox issue, or maybe it may relate to one of
the Firefox Add-Ons on my version of Firefox (i.e. Firebug, AdBlock
Plus, etc...).
Pretty strange though, and I hope the Google team will take a quick
look into the issue so others may not experience the same problem
using Firefox.

I gotta tell you, it really surprises me to find that the work around
involved having to use IE!! I know the folks at Google hate IE as much
of the rest of the web development community worldwide. Ya think those
folks over at Microsoft would get a clue at this point having lost so
much of their browser market share, and write IE so it is standards
compliant... when pigs fly, right! LOL

Thanks you guys for trying to assist.
