I work for a very small children charity and as part of a research project I'm looking at how I can create a map of the UK that is divided into what we would call "Regions", which each "Region" containing a small number of "Areas".
* Each of the "Regions" would be shaded a different colour * Within each "Region" the constituent "Areas" would have a boundary line drawn around them * I also need a Key that shows what colour each "Region" equals (say green equals "Eastern") I've included some sample data below. The number 901 is simply the internal database code allocated to the "Region". Again the number 11 is the internal database number for the "Area". You can see in this example data set that the "Eastern" region has an "Area" within it called "Beds. and Cambs". The "Area" Beds. and Cambs. is comprised of the postcodes "CB1" through to "SG19". Further down you can see that the "Area" North Herts has the postcodes AL1 - WD7 and so the list would go on. Can anyone help create a map if I were to provide all of the boundary information (or provide an easy to understand example of how this would work!).
