I can't reproduce that. The example url http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/directions/json?origin=Boston,MA&destination=Concord,MA&waypoints=Charlestown,MA|Lexington,MA&sensor=false or http://tinyurl.com/34dds3h doesn't include \n for me; it's all one long line.
