You're correct, the API key is only valid for the domain it was registered for. Generate a new one here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html The link for this page is on the homepage of the v2 docs. Can you suggest a better place? Where did you look? And, as a corollary, perhaps you might be interested in the v3 API, where no key is required. Much easier!
