I think I'm a little over my head here, though - from what I understand, the way I have it set up now is that the markers and polylines get shown or hidden according to their category, which is defined in the xml file. But the arrowhead markers don't come from the xml and aren't assigned a category - so even if I did what you are suggesting, it would turn off/on all of the arrowheads at the same time, where what I want to do is only turn on the ones that are associated with the particular polyline that is selected. But then again I may be completely confused.
